Jason and John White hit some oil and struck a kerb on the George Town stage.
Their Dodge Viper was forced to limp to the finish but dropped a lot of time in the process.

Ashley Yelds and John Doble (1961 Volvo 122s) had an off on TS 2. All okay.
The Thoroughbred Trophy 1981 Porsche 911 of Zach Hegde and Sam Kenney is on the way to George Town after the crew fixed a mechanical issue.
Peter Taylor and Tristan Taylor (2015 Lotus Exige Sports 350) have struck a pole delaying George Town with the crew all okay.
The stage is about to restart.
The 1981 Porsche 911 of Brisbane driver Zach Hegde and Sam Kenney will sit out Leg 1 with a mechanical problem.
The plan is to return to the Silverdome for repairs and rejoin for Leg 2.
The ceremonial start is underway at Launceston’s Grand Chancellor hotel.
Australia’s iconic microcar, the Gogomobil Dart was given the honour of leading the field away to the Hillwood stage which is the first of 34 stages over the next six days.

Great news folks, the George Town stage will be live streamed on the TARGA Facebook page this afternoon.
The streaming is set to start from 1pm for the tour cars with the live coverage continuing for the first competition cars just before 2pm.

The hugely anticipated landmark 30th anniversary TARGA Tasmania is hours away from a start.
From midday the big field of just under 500 machines will be waved away from the ceremonial start at Launceston’s Grand Chancellor hotel.
From there the opening competition stage, Hillwood (3.57km), will see the first comp cars scheduled to start from 1.28pm with the first comp cars due for the George Town (4.80km) stage at 1.56pm.
Hillwood and George Town will mark the only two stages on the opening day with six stages set for tomorrow.

The hugely popular TARGA Expo will be held at Launceston’s Silverdome tomorrow night from 6-9pm.
It is a golden opportunity to mingle with teams and see all the competition cars under one roof.
