Gluyas’ lead TSD Trophy after Day 1

After a close morning run when it was anyone’s event, the TSD Trophy category is being comfortably led by Alan and Heather Gluyas in their Toyota 86 GTS.

They are 66 penalty points ahead of Christopher Waldock’s Jaguar, with Richard Davis in third place, a further six points back.

At the lunch break in Euroa, just off the Hume Freeway, the Marshall / Marshall Audi A5 were second, but they went off the road on the final run up Mt Buller and failed to finish the day.

The husband and wife Gluyas combination were fourth at lunch, while the category winners at Targa Wrest Point, Gerry Bashford and Bob Watson, were down 54 points after a disastrous first stage.

However, by day’s end they had recovered to be fourth and still in the running for a podium place.

Gerard Knapp and Roger Campbell are fifth after day one, driving an Alfa Romeo GT.
